Hi guys! Hopefully there are still some people within this community. I'll keep it chugga-luggin' by posting my li'l baby's story!

I have a 1 year old (give or take) female (maybe) bearded dragon named Damien (hence the 'maybe'). We thought she was a boy until my sister and I walked in on her bearded dragon (also a female) erm...mounting Damien. I may or may not have seen something so my sister's dragon's gender is questionable in my opinion. o_o

ANYWAYS. So Damien is now a girl! We got her from Farm & Home, where she was being housed with inadequate lighting, housing, and food. Farm & Home got her from a breeder who said they were getting rid of 2 bearded dragons, and that if no one took them, they would be "thrown away." An employee heard this and thought nothing of it until the same employee found 2 baby bearded dragons in the Farm & Home dumpster! Mind you, NOT in a cage. And it was in the middle of March, so it was around 40-50 degrees outside. I don't know how long they were in the dumpster, but the employee brought them inside and put them in a temporary box, right around the time my mom and sister went in to look at the reptiles. My mom asked to hold both bearded dragons. The larger one was feisty and struggled when held. The littler one looked sickly and laid limp in my mom's hands. She decided to take the younger one.

When she came home and showed me the tiny box containing the baby bearded dragon, I was sort of shocked. I didn't expect to get a dragon out of the blue! When I opened the box and saw the tiny dragon cowering in a corner, I said "Meh." and closed the box. She wasn't a particularly cute bearded dragon, though that may have been due to her malnourishment as a baby. The breeders had only fed her and her companion ice berg lettuce (translation: nothin' but water).

Nevertheless, I grew to love her as she grew to love me. I've yet to figure out what breed she is. When she sits in the sun, she turns a bright lemon yellow and gets pumpkin orange streaks down her chin, with sprinkles of lavendar. She's missing half of her middle finger (boy was THAT a shock when I found the rest of it in her cage!) and has a permanent kink at the very tip of her tail. She nearly died because of the infection that traveled from her finger, up her arm, and nearly into her chest. It was tough getting her to swallow the medicine for it every day!

i took her to a beardie meet n greet at a petco today :3 She was very well behaved--until she took a crap on my mom's shoulder. She was very interested in the smaller male dragon that was there. Kept inching down my leg in an attempt to get closer. The male was bobbing his head and trying to attack her. :( The owner thought it'd be funny to see if he would lick Damien's snout but he nearly took a bite out of her. Bad owner, bad.

She had a fun car ride. <3 Btw, your beardie looks super cute in that video you posted!
